A taste of adventure – June Recipe for Life (One-third of Summer).
For 2 people. Can be enjoyed as one. Sharing with strangers is encouraged.
Following the essay Life is hard, and other sugarcoatings, I am happy to introduce a series of monthly flavours-of-life recipes. This series will be exclusive to paid Subscribers. I would feel privileged if you would contemplate upgrading your subscription and support this newsletter, making it possible for me to spend essential time and efforts in crafting the essays I deliver every week. I feel it is important they remain accessible to all. Thank you, always, for the amazing response, comments, and sharing. Our interactions have nourished my heart and planted the seeds many essays, past and future.
Entering Summer and the promise we can be bare, unhidden, shedding layers, dropping our guards—leaving us open, vulnerable, and ready for anything. We dive into the sweat-soaked adventure that the first heat of June brings. The one that warms you up to the bones, makes you tender up to the core— a deep unfreeze of your curiosity. A sudden overexposure that connects us to the pulse of the streets. What’s out there, really?
Now is a time to confront the unknown, embrace the open sky, step into the light. Summer is a game of hues we chase from sun settings and skin tans, sun shadows and sunglasses. We see more of the mornings and more of the evenings. The summer’s light invites you to taste endless possibilities.
The sun, like a relentless lover, screams your name, hurls itself against your window, demanding you come out and play. It doesn’t bother to ask if you’re ready; it just takes over, a reminder that life, playing its own rhythm, moves forward whether you are prepared or not. It grabs you under its arm and takes you with it. It is a season of actions, pleasurable, new, indulgent. There are no better growth than knowing what makes you feel alive. Summer is your soul getting ripe and juicy.
Summer melts away the ice of routine—you’re ready for a kick, for something you have not felt before. You are in search of new experiences and that itself is a search for answers, to questions you never asked. The bravery starts with stepping outside—outside of your awareness, outside of your knowledge, and surrendering to the belief that life does not end where your mind does.
When you open the gate of your routine and let go of familiar comfort, of the rules and limits you usually play with. Opening up to adventure is an act of rebellion against the constraints of ordinary existence. A rebellion against repetition. You surrender to the idea that there are more flavours to you. What are they? Take the risk, it might not be better but the rewards lie in the difference.
Let’s get ready, shall we?
